  • Why is sound or the lack of sound so important to a scene in a filmWhat kind of messages can it send to an audience?

The lack of sound in the scene where you hear nothing as the cake bakes gives the message that good things take time. The music in the background is calming and melodious and matches the other sounds.

  • Explain why it was or was not difficult to come up with sound ideas for a story that would not have visuals for the audience to see.

I did not have a difficult time coming up with sound ideas. Since the baking part was self-explanatory, you could hear the eggs cracking, the flour pouring, footsteps, and the fridge opening. You could hear the process of something being baked by 2 people and all the steps involved.

  • Explain whether you believe or do not believe that your group was able to create a sound story that the audience would be able to understand by just listening to the sounds that were chosen.  What was the story you created and how did the sounds bring the story to life?

I was able to create a story so that you could understand just by listening to it. The story was about two people going to bake a cake and you can hear all the steps it takes. You can hear milk pouring, eggs cracking and flour dropping into a bowl. You could also hear someone picking up a bowl and the batter pouring into a baking tray. These sounds bring the story to life because it includes the steps you would take to make a cake, and you can hear the realism within it and understand what is going on.
