Movie Opener Brainstorm and Research

 Movie Opening 1: RISE

    This movie opening about a kid seemingly practicing for a soccer match and proceeds to stare down the seemingly opponent. Natural lighting is use throughout the film. Various close ups are used to show the importance of the objects and movements. One key close up seems to be of the main character and his opponent. This seems to be a classic "who will win?" scene.
    The most influential part of this film that had on my group project was the lighting. I like the natural lighting coming from the sun outside. I plan on having most of my film outdoors for the bright and joyful light that the sun provides.

Movie Opening 2: Dear Lover

    In this short film, it is about a girl who ran away from home because her lover's family had such a good relationship with her, and she knew they would never accept her lover. A somber tone is felt throughout the whole film. In the end, she and her lover are sitting by the lake, contemplating life and the choices they make in it.
    Something I would take from this film for my group project would be the deep thinking within the film. I want our film to spark a thought when you watch it and make you think of your own life and when you may have felt something similar. 

Movie Opening 3: Dare to Thrill

    This opening is about a group of friends running around stealing a car and when they eventually open the trunk, the faces of the friends make it seem like something undesirable is in the trunk, like a corpse or body. There is a video game text on the screen making the film feel more like a game. There is also a sudden shock of the trunk scene in much of the contrast of the rest film.
    Something from this I would use in my group project would be the element of sudden surprise. The atmosphere at first is joyful and adventurous, but then very quickly changes to one of horror. This surprise will add to the main idea to the film.

Movie Opening 4: Always watching

    This short film was about a young child sleeping peacefully until a dark and brooding figure looms over him and what I assume kills the small child. The film itself is in black and white with alternative music to give the overall film a creepy feel.
    I do not feel me and my group could take much from this. Although both films have similar genres, we plan to have an unsettling happy film, one that is so positive something seems wrong and then it is revealed something is.

Movie Opening 5: White Coat

   This particular short film is about a scientist that appears to be running an experiment on various subjects until the final shot has someone that seemingly comes to life. The whole clip has a tint of blue, showing technology and intelligence. 
    One thing that is an element from this film I would take to my group film would be the representation of health. In this film it is about creating life while the film we plan on creating focuses on showing mental health and the effects it has on people.

Movie Analysis: Coraline       In the “Passage to them Other World” scene, you can see a variety of angles used. For example , the tilted angle when she chases the little mouse to the tiny door connecting to the Other World , it provides a n odd essence to the scene. You can see all the different angles of the mouse, upside down, sides, and right side up. In an odd way, it also foreshadows the backwards place he brings Coraline. Mood Board: Fantasy Genre

Fantasy Genre Mood Borad!      In the fantasy genre a common element we see constantly is an autumn color scheme. We can see the color scheme in use by the pictures inserted in the mood board above. Some common color trends are forest greens, deep oranges, and grays/blacks. This sets a mystical feel in the genre. This is a classic in the fantasy field.       Another feature in the fantasy genre is magic and magical creatures. Pictures of dragons are shown, which are a storybook classic, they are a pinnacle in castle-set books and films. Usually, these creatures are seen as monsters and are slain by a knight in shining armor. Magic is also used in many films.
