Movie Opener Brainstorm and Research

Image
Movie Opening 1: RISE      This movie opening about a kid seemingly practicing for a soccer match and proceeds to stare down the seemingly opponent. Natural lighting is use throughout the film. Various close ups are used to show the importance of the objects and movements. One key close up seems to be of the main character and his opponent. This seems to be a classic "who will win?" scene.     The most influential part of this film that had on my group project was the lighting. I like the natural lighting coming from the sun outside. I plan on having most of my film outdoors for the bright and joyful light that the sun provides. Movie Opening 2: Dear Lover     In this short film, it is about a girl who ran away from home because her lover's family had such a good relationship with her, and she knew they would never accept her lover. A somber tone is felt throughout the whole film. In the end, she and her lover are sitting by the lake, contemplati...

Final Project Idea Blog Post

Final Project Idea Blog Post     For the final project the idea me and my group decided together on was to make a horror film about an intense case of  schizophrenia. It follows a linear storyline where the events happen in order. The theme mainly shown is not everything is what seems, while it represents mental illnesses. In the start of the film, you see the main character hanging out with his friend in a sunny, bright park in which they are all laughing and talking to each other about anything. This happens until a sharp ringing occurs and the main character spaces away from the conversation. He snaps back when they bring up going to lunch.     At lunch the group is once more chatting about school while the main character is picking at his food and once more, we hear the ringing, and he spaces out again. He comes back when they said they should head back to play some games. When back at the house, they are laughing and playing a video game until the ma...

Mood Board: Fantasy Genre

Image
Fantasy Genre Mood Borad!      In the fantasy genre a common element we see constantly is an autumn color scheme. We can see the color scheme in use by the pictures inserted in the mood board above. Some common color trends are forest greens, deep oranges, and grays/blacks. This sets a mystical feel in the genre. This is a classic in the fantasy field.       Another feature in the fantasy genre is magic and magical creatures. Pictures of dragons are shown, which are a storybook classic, they are a pinnacle in castle-set books and films. Usually, these creatures are seen as monsters and are slain by a knight in shining armor. Magic is also used in many films. Whether a witch, a wizard, or warlock, a magical person is always present in the fantasy genre.     The final essence on the mood board for the fantasy genre are large, elegant structures, like castles and creepy and dark jails like dungeons. In many fantasy films and shows, a common elem...

Group Project; Members and Brainstorming Ideas

Image
Final Project:           Members:               Leyla (Me): Look at other blogs to see why I was chosen.              Cornelius: He is a valuable asset with music and audio editing and production. Can make music and add special effects.               Ericson: Prime actor and has editing skills that can highlight our project.      Ideas Discussed:           Me and the other members of our group have discussed having a phycological torture kind of film. One where the audience is led on to find out the truth. The truth of a harsh reality the protagonist was in denial of the whole time.           An example of this was having someone phasing out of reality. You see them enjoying their time with friends until they zone out hearing a loud ringing noise. You proceed to see thi...
